Luka Doncic injury update: Mavericks star’s triple-double streak snaps after tweaking hamstring vs. Warriors

Luka Doncic had three rebounds, nine assists and 21 points, ending a triple-double run that included an NBA record five consecutive seasons with at least 35 points and six with at least 30 points. On Wednesday streak ended at seven games   Luka Doncic and his triple -double before leaving with hamstring pain as the Dallas Mavericks held on for a 109-99 win over the Golden State Warriors

He’s not sure Doncic will travel to Oklahoma City, where the Mavs will finish a back-to-back on Thursday night, Dallas coach Jason Kidd said. Daniel Gafford was 5 of 5 from the field on all dunks – increasing his streak of field goals made to 33, setting Wilt Chamberlain’s NBA record which is two short of 1967. Gafford also had a season-high seven blocks.

For the warriors Jonathan Kuminga scored 27 points and added 17 points Andrew Wiggins . who was out with a sprained ankle, who went 1-2 without Stephen Curry.

Nuggets move atop West

Nikola Jokic scored 12 points and Michael Porter Jr. had 25 points, On Wednesday,14 rebounds and six assists to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 100-88 win over the sliding Miami Heat in a Finals rematch.

Jamal Murray contributed 14 and Aaron Gordon had 16 points for the Nuggets, who improved to an NBA-best 10-1 start since the All-Star break and moved a half-game ahead of for first place in the Oklahoma City  Western Conference.

Jimmy Butler scored 15, Bam Adebayo had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Miami, which lost its fourth straight and fell two and a half games behind Orlando in the Southeast Division. The lead is 12-1 against the Denver Heat in their last 13 games, including last season’s NBA Finals.

Injury update of Luka Doncic

In the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s 109–99 win over the Warriors with 6:46 left in a winger by Doncic passed to Daniel Gafford. As soon as his target, Kedlas Kendra knocked the ball across, Doncic turned away. While putting his leg back, he landed awkwardly on the court.

Doncic, shortly thereafter, informed head coach Jason Kidd that he needed to be taken out of the game. He did not return and JB went to the locker room, officially ending his triple-double streak. Doncic finished the day with 21 points with nine assists and three rebounds.

Doncic was sidelined by Dallas with a left hamstring strain but went on to win over Golden State in the finals.  After the game speaking to the media a brief update on Doncic’s status Kidd provided. Doncic left Wednesday’s game because of hamstring soreness, he reiterated but did not provide details.

When Kidd was asked whether Doncic would travel to Oklahoma City in Dallas for the next game, which would be Thursday night against the Thunder, Kidd said, “We’ll have a better answer tomorrow.”
